Waterbugs

This course is one of our favorites! Waterbugs is a one week learn-to-sail course for 8 and 9 year olds, perfect for those eager to get out on the water and have fun.
Ages 8 & 9

Kayaking Adventures

Kayaking Adventures offers all hands-on paddling fun, with daily kayak expeditions to Gray's Creek salt marsh, Seymour's Rock, and the Saugatuck River. Learn basic paddling techniques while commanding your own kayak.

Experience the beauty of the Long Island Sound on a paddleboard and kayaks. Instructors teach paddling techniques and guide excursions each day within the protected waters of the Saugatuck River.
Ages 12-16

WaterCats

WaterCats is an all hands-on adventure week. With an instructor onboard each boat you'll be sailing to local islands and beaches in a co-ed format. Every day is different. Students are grouped by age. (This class does not include formal sailing instruction)

ADVANCED COURSES

Introduction to Catamaran

Experience the exciting feel of sailing fast moving Hobie Waves through the Sound. Utilize basic sailing skills while mastering multihull handling techniques. Expect to get wet!
Ages 10-16

Advanced Catamaran Sailing

Learn the finer points of catamaran sailing on larger, faster Hobie Getaways. Don't forget to wear a bathing suit and hold on!

Racing Techniques

This course is the highlight of our summer. Students learn yacht racing rules, strategy, and tactics in a week-long high-intensity Neo regatta.
Diplomas and trophies awarded.
Ages 13-16.

Class FAQs

Is there a swim test?

Yes, there is a swim test on the first day of class. Adults need only take the swim test once per summer.

What happens if it rains?

We will be on the water in the rain. If we are unable to go on the water due to lightning/thunder/heavy winds, we will remain open to provide childcare for our students.

Can I make up a class if I miss a day?

No, we do not schedule make-up days.

How do I know if I am ready to move on to the next level?

Students learn and pick up skills at different rates, and the best way to determine if you are ready to move on to the next level is to ask your instructor. In addition, students are welcome to call our office so we can help to assess which class is right for you.

REFUND POLICY

Full refund less 4% refund fee if cancelled 21 days before the course start date. Courses cancelled within 21 days of the course start date are not eligible for refunds.
